This piece marries the soft elegance of lace with more hardcore imagery of a cross. The artist used ink pens to draw the design and layered a piece of lace over the top and used screws to keep the fabric in place. The sharp edges are in direct reference to the crown of thorns worn by Jesus when he was crucified. This idea is contrasted by the delicate texture of the overlaid lace.
