This piece takes familiar iconography and reinterprets the majesty of catholic art. Using pen and ink the artist created a gothic cross to which she then glued an image she took onto the center of the canvas. The image hs been layered ontop of foam to give the piece dimension. By using an image of Mary as opposed to Christ this piece asks the viewer to think about the mother as opposed to the son.
