Crosson was created out of resilience and strength. By reinterpreting the idea of catholic iconography and what it symbolizes I seek to challenge my viewers' relationship to the meaning of faith.Crosson isn't bound by a specific medium; it seeks to explore art through interdisciplinary techniques and recognizable motifs. I create art to feel power in my emotions. The idea of expressing yourself can be at odds with religion. Faith is something everyone is entitled to but can be used as a weapon against other people. My hope is to move people, by giving their pain, frustration, and anger a place to be felt.
About the Artist
My name is Alita Crosson
I'm a visual artist. I find inspiration through forms of photography, sketching, writing and videography. I'm influenced by my dance background and use that foundation in performance to create theatrical exploration of emotion. I have no limits and am always seeking to diversify my mediums and perspectives.
